Me in 30 secs....
I was born in Jersey City, which is across the Hudson river from Manhattan. This social experience showed me the importance of Diversity and how things are made useful by use. This is different from most of marketing that tries to deem a product important.
I graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts where I received a BA in Sociology. This gave me the foundation I needed to understand the power and reason for the explosion of social networking on the web. From there I moved to Kansas City, MO where I experience another culture by assisting a non-profit with technology during the birth of the Internet.
I moved to Arizona and worked for Arizona State University(ASU) for over 5 years. My experience with ASU concluded by fulfilling a Website Specialist position that was based on the Drupal content management system. My duties focused on sites that spanned the entire University. My moments in technology covered from the birth of personal computers and the Internet, to Online Apps, Smart phones, and devices such as the Kindle and iPad.
Now, I execute Usability and User Experience for web strategic planning and implementation for a small business. I increase value of technology by focusing on use to achieve a purpose or goal. I use workflows, emerging technology, and social media with a Sociology foundation to meet customer expectations.
"I define success, by making a tool useful."
Usability is found all around us. I believe it provides a path to:
- a best practice
- clarity of purpose
- reduction confusion and delay
- key best-practice for sustainability
I am about making our world better, easier, and more user-friendly. Technology today is too hard to use. A cell phone should be as easy to access as a doorknob. In order to humanize a world that uses technology as an infrastructure.
"We MUST develop technologies in a way that serves people first."
